Tiefling

Obviously human and "something else" crossbreeds, the "something else" in a tiefling's case is usually assumed to be lower-planar. This stigma follows all tieflings around through their lives. Loners by nature, they make their own paths out of necessity; no tiefling culture exists to aid the outcasts, since no two tieflings are alike. As distinctive from humans as they are from each other, tieflings tend to be wary and distrustful due to the reactions they come to expect from others. Tieflings take care of themselves, and they learn early that no one will take care of them.

Tieflings appear to be human, apart from some distinguishing features related to their unusual ancestor. Some examples of these features include fangs or pointed teeth, forked tongues, small horns on their heads, glowing red eyes, cat eyes, more or less than five fingers, goatlike legs, hooves, non-prehensile tails, red skin, bruised blue skin, casts no shadow, throws no reflection, skin is hot to the touch, smell of brimstone, or furry, leathery, or scaly skin. Because tieflings are born of many different creatures, it can be difficult to tell if any two of them are related.
