Unacceptable Character Builds
Some classes are so top heavy that taking one level of them qualifies as an exploit of game mechanics. On the Gatecrashers server, the following classes will require a minimum of 3 levels invested into them by level 20:
- Barbarian
- Cleric
- Monk
- Paladin
- Ranger
- Shifter
- Shadowdancers require a minimum of 4 levels before level 20
The following class combinations are considered illegal:
- Assassin/Shadowdancer
- Bard/Blackguard
- Bard/Paladin
- Monk/Arcane Archer
- Monk/Cleric
- Monk/Druid
- Monk/Psion
- Monk/Shifter
- Sorcerer/Paladin
- Sorcerer/Blackguard
- Shadowdancer/Arcane Archer
In addition to this, characters playing Red Dragon Disciples will be expected to have at least 4 levels in either bard or sorcerer before achieving level 20.
The following class combinations are not considered illegal, but application only for thematic reasons:
- Assassin/Duelist
- Monk/Barbarian
- Monk/Bard
- Barbarian/Dwarven Defender
Just use the Prestige Class Application form for it. Keep in mind that you need to justify the interaction between the two classes and explain how it's not thematically inappropriate for your character.
Finally, there are three rather specific notes:
- Any non-pure monk builds that use one or two Kama's while dual wielding, are illegal.
- The first ranger bonus feat a character acquires, has to be a favoured enemy.
- Eldritch Knight and Mystic Theurge may only take 10 levels in their respective prestige classes pre epic.
